Away from afflictions…
No more having to sort confliction…
It is no longer on you to make the hard decision.
You stepped in front of tension to keep us from feeling friction…
You deserved to rest when you were living…
This is my apology to you for the times you had to wonder if I was missing…
You never hurt or betrayed me.
Your loyalty, is in my intuition…
You taught me love.
You completed the mission.
Poetry is a form of expression. These expressions can include any thought, feeling, or state of being. Poetry has many definitions that are similar in nature. One definition of poetry is writing involving metaphorical or figurative language that has rhythm and at times rhyme. Another definition of poetry is writing that creates imaginative awareness of experience organized to spark a specific emotional response. Moreover, this is done through meaning, sound, and rhythm. Therefore, a person who writes poetry is considered a poet. All poetry here at Poetry Cue are great examples of poetry. This particular poem is Titled: Rest in Peace. The category is Elegy.
Poetry is based on perception and perception can be based on facts. With that, poetry cannot be confined to subjection. The reason is poetry can be based on a person’s view of the world or simply an active imagination. Also, poetry can be based purely on facts. In addition, poetry is writing and writers write about whatever inspires their creativity. There are poems about history and fiction. Many writers are activists and are inspired because they feel the need to speak out. Writing poetry has many Genres to choose from.
