“Return To Sender” by Poetry Cue
If a dog bites me, I fight the dog out of necessity;
while my anger is reserved for its owner.
If a dog gets the better of me,
I cater to my wounds,
while my enemy is its owner.
Poetry is a form of expression. These expressions can include any thought, feeling, or state of being. Poetry has many definitions that are similar in nature. One definition of poetry is writing involving metaphorical or figurative language that has rhythm and at times rhyme. Another definition of poetry is writing that creates imaginative awareness of experience organized to spark a specific emotional response. Moreover, this is done through meaning, sound, and rhythm.
